A PRODUCTION engineer used a digital camera hidden in a paper
bag to video the underskirts of women in shopping malls on one day
in 2008.
Within two hours on Sept 6, 2008, Tham Nam Sang managed to
capture clips of 85 unsuspecting women, mostly in Ngee Ann Shopping
Centre, Suntec Convention Centre and other unknown places.
On Friday, the 47-year-old admitted to five counts of intruding
into the privacy of women.
His lawyer, Mr Jacob Lim, told Community Court Judge Soh Tze
Bian that Tham was having mental depression at the time and was
still undergoing treatment.
He said this was his client's first brush with the law and there
was very little risk of him offending again.
The court called for a probation report on April 28. The maximum
punishment for insulting modesty is one year's jail and a fine.
