I have always believed that vegetarians are misled in one way or
another. There are two primary reasons that I often hear when I
ask vegetarians about why they choose this path -- moral
and religious, both of which are plain ridiculous as a
basis for refusing to eat meat.
Of course, we know that most vegetarians only choose not to eat
meat because they want to lose weight, but are too much of a coward
to admit it. It sounds more noble, heroic and poetic to avoid meat
consumption for a broader environmental or religious
cause.
I am practically a vegetarian myself, but that's because
vegetables and non-meat products are cheap.
