A YOUTH who had sex with a 13-year-old girl three years ago was
placed on 15 months' probation on Wednesday.
Mohamed Radhi Mohamed Kamis, 20, became the third person to have
been given a shot at rehabilitation for having sex with the same
girl.
The girl had told police that she had sex with several men when
she was warded in hospital and found to be pregnant in July 2008.
In all, she had sex with 15 men, some of whom have been convicted
and jailed.
In the latest case, the court heard that Radhi became acquainted
with the girl through the Internet chatroom alamak when he was a
17-year-old student. She told him she was either 13 or 14. They
exchanged telephone numbers and subsequently also started
exchanging text messages.
The court heard that on March 14, 2008, Radhi met the girl at an
MRT station and proceeded to her home where they had sex.
A second similar charge was taken into consideration. Community
Court Judge Ng Peng Hong also ordered Radhi, a full-time national
serviceman, to perform 100 hours of community work and remain
indoors between 10pm and 6am. His parents signed a bond to ensure
his good behaviour.
