IIT student inserts pencil in penis, serious
Kanpur, Sept 14 (PTI):
In a bizarre act, an IIT student here, suspected to be under
depression, inserted a pencil in his penis today following which he
was taken to be hospital in a critical condition.
IIT-K registrar Sanjeev Kasalkar said 24-year-old Rakesh Kumar, a
second-year M. Tech student in Industrial & Management
Engineering, screamed in pain and was taken to a private hospital
was admitted in the ICU.
Kasalkar, however, refused to describe Rakesh as mentally ill,
saying he was quite a normal student and was not under any
treatment.
"He inserted the six-inch pencil so deep that it reached the
urinary bladder," said Dr Rajesh Agarwal, superintendent of the
hospital where Rakesh is admitted.
He said that during observation, Rakesh told him that he has been
inserting a pencil a little bit since the past six months and
derived pleasure in doing so.
"He was doing the same thing today but suddenly the whole pencil
went inside.
"This is the first time that we are tackling such a case and he has
to undergo an operation for removing the pencil," Agarwal said.
