You don't see the foreign athletes complaining about having 1 piece of chicken and 6 pieces of long beans do you? Goes to show our government's policy is p...

I was always told in camp that one meal catered for us at the cookhouse is 5-7 bucks, so I take it that what the volunteers were getting is the 2-3 bucks variant.

Where do you want your 3 meals? Hawker centre, food court, or restaurant?

You took the words out of my mouth.

Haha... YOG forgot to ask volunteers to surrender their handphones... CANNOT TAKE PICTURE!!!

From the way they forced student to write about YOG, talk about YOG and sing about YOG, you can see how desperate and how useless it is to force ideas into people mind.

It is strange that some forumers can link national pride with YOG when the money can be better spent on helping the needy in the society.

What is national pride when you have a empty and hollow sports events at the expense of your own people plight and minority chase of insignificant fame ?

We are no better than some asian countries who also forced certain ideology into their people.

When there is a disparity in the food standard, then what is the justice to the parents where their kids have to waste their study time to be involved in a event which parades to the whole world on how money can be wasted.

Anyway, its quite a bad move to give the volunteers such a poor nutrition meal... At least you should have given them better food. A KFC or MacDonald's meal would have been healthier and comes with a drink. Better than those junk plastic box food!

After all, they come forward to volunteer, and spend hours doing escorts and standing under the hot sun. Certainly they deserve more.

And I believe most will feel that they were not appreciated at the end of the day, giving them a poor impression of the country and how politicians run events here.

If work 1 hour = $3.50, 3 hours should be $10.50.

Don't tell me the PAP government want to suck money from volunteers also.

Can't even provide proper meals for volunteers, this is pathetic.

Heard they offering $5 per hour for ambassadors hired for the same job as volunteers... Being a volunteer sounds like free national service and labour huh???

Does it means that FT Volunteer get different treatment than local volunteer?

They could give allowance, but problem is some location is so ulu that's there's no eatery nearby i.e. Sengkang has only Mc..

So ends up some corner ppl kp abt not enough allowance, some got excess.

Tat's why e fresh ration idea came.

But if e volunteers gotta sweat it out and get diff food from e paid officials, then it sounds a bit of MINDEF/ SAF style of food.

In the attempt to show off the event to the whole world. they have neglected taking care of the volunteers that helped to make the event possible.

It is also a irony that the lunch box incident have become more famous than the actual event.

This is how short sighted the organisers are.

budget. everything got budget one. organisers must have a low budget for volunteers.

Terminator Hitman SG

eh????why the food at yog so rotten??

u be lucky the volunteers at yog dun end up as public protestors shouting "DOWN WITH THE SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT!" after being dished out with starvation rations for meals .

Terminator Hitman SG

if food is so bad the soon we will probably see yog volunteers throwing rocks n stoners at yog meal provider during lunch time.....and see his vehicle overturned and on fire wiv huge black smoke for miles!

think best they get the yog atheletes to buy their own food.

Rooney9 SG

u dunno how the finance dept work meh? they will do the approval once budget is submitted. if the budget is high, they will tell you to look for cheaper alternatives. so LL lor.

I heard that while the lower level volunteer were eating that, the upper level were having BBQ + alcohol party. To the extend that the drunkard almost pick up a fight with the pte security guard.

It was finally covered up with a meditator buying kopi to shut the matter up against the press.
