"In general, Singapore Customs said all goods imported into
Singapore, regardless of whether they are dutiable or non-dutiable
are subject to 7% GST."
Really meh. The t-shirts I buy at Phuket and bring back also
subject ot GST?
I think the gold coins have to declare, because of anti money
laundering laws to counter terrorism.
go read up the notice properly..
if you are overseas for more than 48 hours and you are more than
18 years old, you are allowed up to $300 GST relief..
which means if you buy stuff more than $300, you will have to
pay GST on the balance... meaning if you buy things worth $500, you
will have to pay GST for $500 - $300 = $200.. meaning 7% of $200 or
$14...
go ask the ICA people at the Red Channel that you want to go to
the Singapore Customs fellas to pay
