Singapore Medical Association censures two doctors for
professional misconduct
The Singapore Medical Council has found two doctors to be guilty
of professional misconduct.
The first is Dr Zubin Medora, a general practitioner at Medora
Centre for Aesthetic Medicine located at Camden Medical
Centre.
The 37-year-old has been censured for misrepresenting himself as a
trained and accredited plastic surgeon when in fact, he was
not.
He had also performed liposuction on a patient leaving the patient
with deformities and scars.
Dr Medora was fined $10,000.
The second case involved Dr Tay Tiong Hum from Tay Clinic at Block
20 Chai Chee Road.
He had inappropriately prescribed Benzodiazepine or valium to his
patients.
Long term consumption of the drug may lead to drug
dependence.
He had also failed to properly document his patient's diagnosis,
symptoms or conditions.
Dr Tay was suspended for 3 months and fined $1,000.
