Texas man found asleep with corpse in
closet
HOUSTON – Authorities say a Houston man found asleep with a
corpse inside a closet of a vacant Texas home faces misdemeanor
drug charges.
Harris County Constable deputies discovered 21-year-old Cody
Jean Plant on Sunday at the home in Cypress, which is about 25
miles northwest of Houston. The deputies went to the home after the
owner reported hearing voices and seeing signs of forced entry.
Authorities didn't immediately release the dead man's
identity.
Assistant Chief Deputy Mark Herman tells the Houston Chronicle
that the men appeared to have been taking drugs. He didn't specify
what kind.
Plant faces three drug charges and remains in the Harris County
Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. Jail officials didn't know Monday
whether he has an attorney.
