PUTRAJAYA: Taxi drivers will enjoy more benefits from the
Government as it rolls out its promise to issue 1,000 individual
licences.
Apart from being able to operate on their own, the Yayasan
Rakyat 1Malaysia (YR1M) will issue a RM5,000 grant to each
individual licence holder to buy a brand new Proton Exora said
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun
Razak.
"For every taxi driver given an individual licence, I think we
should make it compulsory that they buy an Exora through Yayasan
Rakyat 1Malaysia, who will give a RM5,000 grant per vehicle.
"This means the price will go down from RM64,000 to RM59,000,"
he said at a Janji Ditepati programme at the Putrajaya
International Convention Centre (PICC) where he presented the first
batch of 200 individual licences here on Sunday
