Old habits die hard...
Last time people shake their diesel vehicle cos "old" diesel
"foam" when u pump.
Shaking it let the foam settle and hence can pump in more.
Modern diesel fuel, less almost no foaming, but older drivers
still do it because of old habits.
I still don't understand why people fill up right to the top,
diesel or petrol. Just near the brim of all vehicle is an over flow
outlet. One corner and all the "extra" u pump straight away flow
out the overflow tube..
That overflow tube is meant of excess diesel or petrol vapor to
escape when temperature gets warm/hot and the vapor expands.
So it's kind of a waste of money pumping to the brim, but most
"veteran" hirer still insist on their relief to do so. Newer
drivers also do so cos the "old birds" also do so..
One pointless bad habit passing on to the next
generation....
