Fellas, that's why I always say the present driver training system is seriously lacking somewhere.

Most drivers I see everyday are generally ill-equipped to handle everyday expressway driving. Even on normal roads for that matter! You see ppl going happily at 90+ on 50kmph-limit roads.

Take the entrance to kpe (city-bound) tunnel for eg.

I km before the entrance, speed limit is 70, numerous signboards such as reduce speed, downslope, dark tunnel ahead, etc are displayed.

Yet you hv ppl happily picking up speed, overtaking and changing lanes and "BANG"!! Several-vehicle pile up. Half of singapore inconvenienced.

Quite frequently you know, esp morning peak hours!

Penalty for tailgating must be increased to say, $300 and 9 points. That should make those aces sit up, take stock of the situation and drive more carefully!

As a further penalty, you tailgate and kiss someone's arse, insurance should only pay for your car damage but you hv to pay others' damage.

Tailgaters on expressway who gets into accidents should also pay fines for causing congestion and inconvenience to thousands of other road users!

You are assuming that you have the right of way because YOU are following the rules.

Have you ever thought of, What if the other party need to rush to Hospital because it is life or death for them.

What if a Government Special Visitor needs to get to the Airport, and is blessed by TP to travel at that speed.

What if a person need to rush to Changi Hospital because his father is having his last breath at the hospital before he die.

Many what if's.....

Yes, when the car was passing, you saw that they are 2 idiots,

But before they pass, you do not know who they are that need to pass.

This jiao kia from AYE Jurong/City start to tailgate me at fast lane........110km/hr, also follow closely, 130km/hr also follow closely.......Honda Accord vs Mercedes Benz Taxi..........

From my rear mirror, saw Ah Lian sitting beside this Jiao Kia......OH, must be trying to impress MM.......

Nnb, filter to center lane, never mind let you pass me........after he pass me, knnbccb no turning back liao......my turn to tailgate him loh..........

He lane 1, I also lane 1......he go lane 2, I also lane 2.......die die will tailgate him, he slow down, me also slow down......he signal want to exit Fort Road, me also signal......than he scare, turn back to ECP again...........

Tailgate until almost reach Airport, me Si Beh Eng and HOT.......to a point he slow down until like 20km/hrs........me still follow.......if he really stop, CONFIRM.........

Than he pick up again, go round Terminal 1 Departure Hall 1 round......me still follow.......

Than SUDDENLY my phone ring.........knn, Comfort call and fark me.......

Me act blur......Bo leh, Bo tailgate leh, should be when he slow down, tell MM to see my licence plate........knn, Jiao Kia don't know Elastic......

There is nothing wrong for a person to travel on first lane at the speed limit destinated, by law.

We are too much into law ( maybe we had been rule by a lawer for 47years) and almost forgotten about ethics (or etiquette).

Road hogger are good example, they proclaim that they done nothing wrong against the law, as long they remain at the speed limit, it is ok to hold up one, or even hundred of car behind him. This is also Uniquely Singapore.

Where are the road etiquette? Think many do not even know the existence of such word.
