I think you are the kid in this forum. If you were in the same
situation think you wood just keep quite give the pax a free ride
then cry like a pussy..
There is nothing wrong with sending pax to police to settle
dispute, especially is pax threaten not to pay or physical harm.
I'm guessing you dont have TDVL, since you said y take a drunkard
when u know it's a risk. During course we are taught never to
reject a pax once they boarded, unless they say they don't have
money or due to religious beliefs (ie, dogs). Pax can complain to
LTA if we do that. Get complain go LTA seldom our reasons are
heard, LTA will usually side pax. We get points and risk losing our
TDVL.
During course we are also told that unlike sales or service
line, customer(pax) are never 100% correct. If there is a dispute
go police.
Both what Poolman and Tzarh did was very respectable, if i were
in that situation given the mood i'm in i don't think i would act
as "graciously" as them. I'm not one of those "gracious"
Singaporean. Both already more then halfway thru the trip, risking
losing their fare. In many other countries they have rear passenger
facing cameras to prevent verbal, physical abuse and also fare
runners.
Here we only have our words against them, best option is to
settle the problem immediately whilst the pax is in the current
drunkard state. Even if pax is drunk reach destination and cannot
wake up, we have to call police for assitance.
If you owned a restaurant, customer come in eat the meals they
ordered and refuse to pay or start cursing you, would u just let
them go? Of course not! Sure call the authorities, civil way of
settling dispute.
If every taxi driver, just give the pax a free ride cos he/she
is drunk. End up , every pax will pretend to be drunk and curse or
swear or threaten to get a free ride.
Wish Singapore had laws against public intoxication like other
western countries, drunk in public get caught spend night in jail
to sober up before can go home.
i m not TD . pehrps the taxi company should
educate TDs to handle such cases instead of cry baby n
running to mummy's arms wenever u encounter such problems.
