You know when I resume taxi driving after a long absence, I
sometimes also used to charge city surcharge at say Arab St.
Then 1 day I re-consider and said that's not right. So from then
on I never overcharge my pax, and return whatever in excess. Got a
few times, pax give me $50 plus ten, thinking it's 2 ten, But I
return.
I found wallets and hps also, but also return. And without
charge even, if offered I turn down. Only if insist, then I take or
unless they need their hp back straightaway, then I will vharge. If
they can wait a few hours, then no charge.
I also don't handover to the counter, where maybe get some
letter of thanks or whatever rubbish.
My philosophy is that I don't need to be rewarded for doing the
right thing. The right thing must be automatic and
sincere.
