Job Opportunity - Non Taxi related

Bo Call Liao SG

Well bros , if some of you think that taxi driving is the world so be it.

Juz trying to help a friend and maybe another uni grad turned taxi driver whom might see this may wanna give it a shot.

Guess? SG

WTF. Good local Uni grad still LL do low pay job and drive taxi?

They wanted to keep quiet and let the society rot their life? They forget their parents supported them their studies?

No wonder those so called FT can bloosom that much and make away with so high pays, drive posh car, live in condos....blah..blah..blah...! €uro is unstable, but economic here is still a bit okay.

If you smart enough and can't do anything or don't bothers, then have to serve you guys right and not blame anybody. Me only 2 O levels, no choice have to drive, but you guys should fight for your future if still young.

Poolman SG

My opinion is , taxi driving is never a long term solution for younger generation with a degree .

Reason ?

U eventually need to secure a job , so that CPF allow you to loan when buying a flat .

CPF need to see your last 3 years CPF contributions , without it , it takes alot of trouble to go thru those relevant documents they required .

Self employed never easy to purchase a brand new HDB flat .

I haven't seen one cabby that when need to buy a HDB flat , they no need to see their MP .

In some cases , see MP also no use .

Poolman SG

Degree holders , young people like early 30's .

Still single . . . bachelor

Taxi driving can never find u a wife . Unless a foreign bride .

Esp OMO .

Sleep also not enuf liao , what social lifestyle u want ?

Poolman SG

Unless u are the only son , married with 2 kids , the house eventually will be yours ..... plus u have no intentions to buy one .

Then taxi driving maybe still can .

But i still advise younger generation degree holder not to waste that 2 chances in purchasing brand new HDB flat .

The 2 chances that u can loan from CPF instead of private bankings .

Poolman SG

I emphasis , u cannot be a cabby if u have intentions to get married and buying a flat .

CPF is very crucial in buying a flat . IR8A also not as powerful !

Still can buy , not say cannot buy .

But when u are tagged "Taxi driver" in that application form , u will have several hurdles to clear , unlike if u have consistent CPF contribution with good salary .

But do not find those jobs in what BCL quote "Contract" basis , unless that contract provides CPF to you .

Poolman SG

Like mine case . . i tookover the flat when i was 21 .

Cos we cannot afford to pay cash every month that time , but with CPF easier .

I already owned a 5 room now , from 4 rooms ... so can i be a cabby ? Yes for sure .

Cos at this stage , i dun need them anymore ( CPF ) .

I prefer cold hard cash .

In Singapore , i conceded that one cannot never be rich .

I have to thank God , during my time , i contributed 20% , and boss 20% of the salary to CPF .

Now i don't want to know how much total contributions , cos i dun need to worry .

But newer generation need to worry .

My father bought the 4A HDB at $65,900 at 1987 . 110 square metre , not shoe box HDB hor .

Now 4 room what price ? Size ? I dun want to know .

Driving a cab .... i really cannot imagine what kind of flats HDB allow you to buy ?

Poolman SG

Like i say ..... if u are a degree holder , taxi temporary can lah , while driving , really do look out for the real opportunities .

If i am a degree holder . . . i am so sure , i will try my best to be someone up there .

In 1990, a normal u graduate without honour already taking this paid, after 20 over years, still the same and with honour some more, what a joke!!

No wonder the former NWC prof Lin said, wages must go up by at least 50%, meaning most peoples here are underpaid by 50%.

Nabei, I casket driver earn more than a degree holder...what a joke!!! hahahaha

Then when people asked me, Uncle, you go any degrees?

I told them got, left eyes longsighted 150 degree, right eye also 150 degree.

Prof Tommy Koh in his speech "What S'pore can learn from Europe".

He cited the monthly pay of cleaners and bus drivers in 4 countries namely Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway.

Singapore

> Denmark
> Cleaner S$5,502 Bus driver S$6,193
> Finland
> Cleaner S$2,085 Bus driver S$3,910
> Norway
> Cleaner S$5,470 Bus driver S$6,260
> Sweden
> Cleaner S$3,667 Bus driver S$4,480

What more can i say. They are countries similar in GDP.......disgraceful

Exactly, and Bro Ang, funny how all these are retired govt officer or public servant, during their tenure with the govt, they never speak up, and now retired or free to go, they speak the truth.

3% Annual increment is a joke against a 5% inflation, U degree per year only increase $90??? Nabie, my casket tips per week more than that liao...a total disgrace. Lai lai, ask a few U grads to carry casket better, I guarantee them 4k

Recently, they wanted to attract back singaporean into industrial, I attended one of the talks, knn, paid only $1,200 to $1,500, wa lau, I told them, roti prata now cheapest $0.80 liao, you want us to eat tau sau peng...knn, bo tao now

Poolman SG

But quite common Bachelor degree now $3000 basic salary .

bowah SG

This is call depressive wages, all due to the luxury of employers given and spoil for the choice of FTs and many others.

Now what is a degree? Come out still work, more worse, most take themselves as the sandwich group (lower middle income) and spent lavishly, yet hv to compete with FTs, built family or end up at CQ drinking $12 per glass tiger..

Salary too low with a degree like that. Not worth the many years of studying and repaying the study loan. Phui.

bowah SG

Phui, you see those selling credit cards or investment product at MRT tunnels, shopping malls, etc, all U graduates, banks give them bogus designation, like Finanical Consultant, Investment Directors, Product and Banking manager, and so on, all big names, but knn, sell koyo at mrt tunnel?? Then few months ago, retrenched alot at bank, all gone.

Recent survey also shown many youngs are drinking more than our times, all give up hope liao.
