CNY ....... Night Driving

First and foremost …. I wish all chinese TDs here a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year.

I will be driving night from 22 Jan onwards to 27 Jan.

Anybody can advise me….

1) 23 & 24 Jan … peak hr and city surcharge still applies rite?
2) Can advise whether got pax during nite from past CNY pattern?

2) after 12 mn v v v slow becos all nite spots close.office workers still on cny holiday,no late going home,only place to pick pax :AP,IR.

nothing special lar about CNY Eve or CNY itself …..

Why ?

Cos 365 days got 25% peak hour , so nothing special , everyday for us is CNY Eve .

Of course basic strategies must be there , one also must possessed simple logic .

What do you expect , when u have say…. 70% of taxi drivers are Chinese ?

Logically , 70% shortage at a certain time , correct ?

Another point , Reunion Dinner , Dinner , correct ? So dinner time shortage everywhere in Singapore .

If say 50% of those chinese cabbies makan during dinner , what u reckon ?

I started work at about 6.30pm most of the time during CNY Eve , by the time i started , CCK street not much people , but Singapore Zoo …... Pick N Go , need help !!!

2011 , heard from walklie talkie , Lake View jobs mostly $X plus meter , not ordinary booking rate , so can imagine all happening inside orchard road area ?

Last min shoppers all rushing home for dinner . . . but no cabs .

Tourist also dunno why no cabs around ?

Hotel also in trouble , esp those departure guests , must make Advance arrangements .

But usually most night cabbies start work at around 7pm …. still if 100% of them otr , one can still create connections everywhere in Singapore .

Used to be very busy after 8pm , cos peak hour finished , this year i dunno , i dun think it makes any differences .

CNY Eve , also a day those non-chinese party also .

So u may expect malays and indians to go : ” Uncle Clarke Quay “

I never play around town during CNY eve , where got time ?

HDB crying for taxis …. play mahjong , go home after Reunion Dinner , MBS , RWS , etc …..

CNY Eve , the midnights , actually not steam one to work .

Town those party areas still got bits and pieces around .

But around 4am . . . . Clarke Quay crying for taxis !

eat out and needs taxi to go back home.

after midnight that can ply the nite spots.

Of course lah, knn 4 to 7 reunion dinner, nearly 50% cabbies off the road, left only our other races brothers and sisters on the road, everywhere also full of people, HDB can already, jiak buay liao,..unlike normal day cheapo trip, those going reunion travel from town to town, then after that, like me, kenna stuck in mahjong game, whole nite making 5台 limit, no nid to drive already
