When your body feel cold it will generate heat from stored
energy (in the liver) to combat the cold. When this is depleted
your fight against cold will be on the losing end, and you will
start shivering to generate more heat.
The way to deal with the cold is not to lose body heat in the
first place.
Dress comfortably warm at the very begining of your day. The
best way is to have layered clothing. T-shirt over shirt,
vest over shirt, jacket over vest. Not necessary exactly like that,
but that should give you an idea.
You take off or add on as you feel warm or cold.
Starting the day with a good breakfast also helps.
Clothes are not warm, they only retain heat, if there is no
heat (energy) in your body, then the clothes won't
work.
