Here are dominated by Lake View .

Beach Road radio taxis are like brother to Lake View .

For Lake View , we are very strong in the City .

Whereas , Beach Road are very strong at Seletar Airport areas . . . they are a stronghold at Seletar , Jalan Kayu and some parts of AMK .

In fact , they HQ are at AMK .

But at Clementi , they also have got a kiosk , solely doing sub-letting taxis , meaning u can rent their taxis in daily basis .

Those we called it "no security deposit" type of renting of taxis .

But old taxis lar ... mainly Silver Crown & Smart Crown .

Little bit of yellow top .

And it's usually their rental is higher from taxi companies .

It's catered for those drive until no taxi company want to take them type of drivers .

Those bankrupcy type of drivers .

They also do a bit of corporate vouchers job , despatching staffs home from hotel , companies .

Now new generation of drivers "where got time" for such jobs ?

MBS drive until buay hu liao , corporate jobs ?

So they struggled at times .

Some of their drivers actually joined Lake View .

Lake View has got no drivers joining them so far .

So can you imagine the strength between this 2 radio taxis ?

For Beach Road radio taxis , their drivers know that Lake View radio taxis in town , they no fight one !

About age ....

Lake View drivers averagely , aged between 30-45 , majority .

Beach Road has got more old timers , average between 40-60 .

In Singapore , there is 4 very strong radio taxis kiosk .

All cater for needs at different zones .

Taman Jurong Radio Taxis .

Located at Yung Kuang Road or between Corporation Drive and Yung Kuang Road .

Their characteristic ?

They are super strong at Tuas , about 300 members in all .

No other radio taxis can match their strength at Tuas .

Their membership is $40 per month , with a $0.30 per piece call charge .

They have lots of voucher job from factory level .

Their customers solid one - Loyalist !

Wait 20 minutes , means 20 mins ! No run one , hahahahah .

If run , good luck to that customer !

Taman Jurong Radio Taxis has got the most organised call centre at Taman Jurong .

Their rental there not cheap sia ....

Another radio taxi kiosk is Boon Lay Radio Taxis .

Located at Boon Lay Place , near market or hawker centre .

Their stronghold at Tuas South especially , and some part of Tuas , Gul and Joo Koon .

If anyone want to ask about Boon Lay , can ask OptimaTrans , he is the best person to tell us .

Boon Lay Radio taxis second man in charge , are good friend of Lake View No 2 man , 07 .

Sometimes Boon Lay customers cannot get a cab , they get these customers to dial Lake View .

Vice versa , if our customers cannot get a cab from us , we get them to try Boon Lay .

Boon Lay n Lake View are very close .

But since beginning of 2011 , Boon Lay has not been doing so well .

I believe , the shortage of drivers could be the cause of the slumps .

2am?? Go city better lah, tuas or jurong island peoples work overnite also hv to wait until morning, double paid for them, for 3 shifts, mostly is at 7am, even Esso in jurong island running on shift, come out at 7.30am, but why go jurong island?

Unless you got something negative with the laws, or for some personal reason which you are unable to get a taxi companies, or no money to pay deposit, then go for these day by day radio taxi, otherwise get a taxi company better lah

Taman Jurong is one of the oldest radio taxi services, long before even boon lay was built, with the expand of jurong industrial, boon lay was chipped in to even spread the calls, in their hey days, they are very strong, but not now. Between tuas south (tuas ave) and city (chinatown, CQ, BQ), if I am in taman jurong at midnite, I will sure drive up to city by AYE.

Day shift seldom rely on calls unless you from Comfort taxis .

Because the price of just $2.50 booking without anyother surcharge , some prefer to street picks ahead of going all the way there .

If nearby , can la .

If at Redhill , go Tuas for $2.50 ? Crazy ?

Diesel expensive leh .

At 2am , got calls ..... but many will be there as well .

We called it " anchor" at those nearest spot where the call may come in .

Yes , they know what place what time those people will call .

And they know caller want to go where .

Yes they are so prolific .

I for one see single $2.50 booking no up , without other surcharges .

Even Lake View calls , i really seldom entertain . Unless specific go Airport or things like that .

One reason i dislike driving on Saturday n Sunday .

TransCab calls worst , unless i have motives , i take , if not , they have to wait for someone else .

Pay them $0.50 levy , dunno kena football go where .... dun wan lar .

So for radio taxis like Boon Lay n Taman Jurong , their customers face such problems as well .

When booking became $2.50 , taxis became less to show support .
