Today i pickup 2 young PRC guys at Marina
Mandarin Avatar to Geylang Lor 30 at about 3:15am. After collecting
the fare, i make sure telling them to check their belongings before
alighting them at the junction of Geylang Road. After that i make
my way out of the lorong, and pulse less than a minute in the
shophouses in a few meters away. Thinking another pax wanted to
board my cab, instead they took the sonata infront of me, then i
moved on to the traffic junction of lor 22 and stopped. Suddenly I
heard bike horns of two motorcyclies aiming at me. One of them age
40plus looks local chinese called me on my left to stop. As i wind
down my windows, i ask why and he said his friend left his phone at
my cab and then opened my rear door and took it behind me at my
rear carpet. Another one looks like a myanmar/malay guy look at me
at the right keep watching. I was so stoned to react anything and
it happens in less than a minute. When the traffic light turned
green, i moved on and could not get a glimps of the motor no.
plates of both FBxxxx. I can only think that it is real. Then TC
called me at 30mins later to check if my passenger had left his
Iphone behind. I told them his friends had collected it back but TC
says its not the case. From then on, i knew i was being
conned.
Another case from my taxi friends kakis also being cheated of fake
$50 note at Gaylang, when his pax pay him that fake note.
I write this thread is to remind forumers to be careful of their
money and properties when picking or alighting pax in future.
Either at Geylang or anywhere, never expose your cash especially.
Look at the ah gong head after collecting the $50, make sure its
real money.
