knn, it is a crime for us to smoke outside our taxis? I go all way from changi to tuas, drop off pax, have a coffee and a smoke at smoking table, anything wrong?

I got

There are also smoking paxs who come into the taxi with their last smoke suck in so deep as not to waste cig, and then let go inside my cab, so how?? you think the smell of cig must be from us?? Be fair

Smoke outside cab no issue la. Customer flick ash in car, short while only right? Won't stink your car la.

Not really, if it is a short distance, the next pax who are like you people with sensitive nose will smell it and start to assume that we smoke inside the cab, then we get complain again. I use to tell the pax, sorry, let roll down the window, cos the pax before you let go his last smoke in my cab. But these people, usually lady pax gives you a sour face like as tho we cabbies are at fault.

I hate smokers pax. I am okay with them trying to burn their lungs away, but please do not share your second-hand smoke in my cab. NO NO !!!

My fav is whenever I see a smoking pax on road side, I will stop just slightly in front of them. 10 out of 10 times they will try to fill up their lungs with "the last puff" and then throw the rest of the cigarette. (I open bet, anyone want to bet? :) ). When I see they throw their butt then I will vrooom off, leave them behind with my engine smoke. hahahaha

But i really appreciate all smoker brothers I meet in this forum. Whenever we sit together for kopi and one of them smoke, they always make an effort to blow away far from my face.

I see pretty strong reaction from both camp just over this small matter. (Not to mention a lot of juvenille attacks from those people who I don't even think have enough money to pay for cab fare yet :) )

As a non smoker (cabby) myself, I do not like to board cab filled with smoke smell. Especially if I am with my two young kids.

Normally I would just ask the cabby uncle to wind down all the windows for a little while to let all the smoke ou, and so far I do not have any uncles who are not happy with this request.

This is good action from your part bro.

But trust me, even though it may not be obvious for smokers like you, for us non-smokers we can tell whether it was really from last pax (ie, it's been a little while) or fresh from your cig.

Yah, this morning picked up an ang moh. Took his last puff as I pulled up. Stamped out his cancer stick and because a few people were standing around the condo lobby, dare not throw on the ground. So just bring along into my taxi, and he exhaled his last puff inside my taxi. As an ex-smoker, this smelt even worse to me than a non-smoker or smoker. I quit many years ago, though when having teabreak with my buddies, i will sit with them in the yellow box area. No choice, don't want to sit alone. But sure does smell bad to me. When I see pax waiting at the roadside puffing away and flagging my taxi, I'll press busy and forego the trip. Really can't stand the smell of cig smell breath inside my taxi. Of course any pax further down I also won't pickup to avoid complains of choosing pax.
