TAXI drivers could soon feel the heat of sizzling certificate of entitlement (COE) prices as cab companies find ways to cushion the blow of high vehicle prices in recent months.

Higher rentals - already seen at two companies - are an option. The companies are, however, treading gingerly as cabbies may switch firms or lobby for fare increases, drawing flak from commuters.

Been driving taxi for almost a year now.

Instead of my income increase, nabei, became decrease.

When i first starts diesel was 0.88cents then to 0.90cents follow by 0.92 and now 0.95cents.

Paxs still complaining taxi fares very expensive.

My income decrease, taxi fares very expensive....than where all the profits goes?

These taxi companies knn chao kuan . Information to the press also give misleading figures without GST. As far as we are concerned, we are paying $100+ with the 7% GST. They want to mislead the public into thinking that they are really caring about the cabbies running cost. See what happens if Fairprice put prices before GST on their goods, sure public outcry about being hoodwinked.

For a Sonata,

1st year $98+GST = $104.86 => $107 before u-turn!!!

2nd year $96.5+GST = $103.26

3rd year $95+GST = $101.65

4th year (onwards) $94+GST = $100.58

The biggest bastards are CDG followed by all the other taxi cos.

Not one farking co is good.

transcab good? Medisave co payment? pay rental in advance? how many TDs can afford to do that?

CDG good? Take call levy 40/50 cts , no destination , make the driver work like fark , 2 , 3 , 4 stops. Complains side with pax never for driver . farking high rental , obscene profits they make .

Prime good? Sucker u into paying $5,000 deposit , charge daily rental that frankly is NOT cheap. sucker TDs into taking petrol taxis , now those petrol TDs cry like hell . 100 % pro-prime contract. TD get suspended , rental still have to pay. Pay $5,000 , basically at their mercy.

Tats why all these years i never wanna be a hirer , pay and feed these bastards who then come out with ideas to fix us.

TDs are forever at the losing end. Yes forever bros.

COE at $3,000

COE at $7,000

COE at $10,000

These were the COE rates in 2008 up till around start of 2009

The average COE from 2006 to 2009 is not more than 20k

why dont make U-turn and charge lesser to TDs???

I get especially worked up about the co payment of medisave policy by transcab. It basically makes a mockery of us TDs , dont u think?

' if u wan us to pay $15 into your account every month , please pay 1 month advance rental first'

Are we being treated like fools? idiots? So much revenue they generate and they tell u , to get $15 from them , you pay $3000 first.

If one day, no taxi go airport, not a single taxi at all........

That wont happen, of coz, taxi drivers are made up of individuals, even if u go on strike, other will not follow....

Instead, most are happy that they would go airport and png....

Even the whole forum members would be only about 100+, not much effect.

There are many other taxi drivers that dont even know how to go online....

Just work longer hours lor.....
