The difference between a foreign & local pax

Did not see anyone start this thread.

I would say certain foreign paxes ( tourist or expats) are so much more courteous than well the locals. Its not that we expect the pax to be nice to us but some really make our day and make us a happier bunch on the road.

Have u heard an ang moh calling us sir? i heard that many times and i felt a bit embarassed as it should be the other way round. And i have seldom come across an ang moh who has not said thank u in return , in fact some go on to greet us to drive safe and have a good evening.

The next group are the filipinos , well what can i say?? they have to be the nicest people around la. Never picked a nasty filipino so far.

Next comes the japanese , usually very quiet paxes , never wanna kick up a fuss type and always says thank u in return

And last but not least the Locals!! With the exception of a few , most are stone cold and if we greet em sir or maam , they feel like we are gonna cheat em by taking long routes haha. Say thank u to them , they just take the change & stomp off the cab.

It seems that thank u or please never existed in some Local's vocabulary & of coz majority of em are TD haters.

Just last week , I took a call from battery road . This ang moh pax of mine came on board and told me ,

hey there how are u today?

errr fine sir going to?

To killiney road please. I waited for close to 45 mins for a cab , cant get through the lines but hey im still happy , happy coz you came for me.

Local never kan you , thank your lucky stars my TD bros.

And to the likes of the bear , parn & multipleviews , it is so obvious that you belong to the TD hater group. I am happy for u but im sad to say taxis will still be the way of life in singapore.

And i really pity you guys coz day in & day out you have to put up with scums like us , so much so that you guys cant let go and choose to intrude into a forum basically for TDs.

You have plenty options to avoid us and seriously the best would be to pay $75,000 for a Kia Forte or if u can afford it $98,000 for a toyota altis, then maybe u have lesser things to say about us but oh no! when you get your ride , you still gotta put up with our antics on the roads! damn!

Just now at our classfied location , took one ang mor to Marine Vista .

Was like what u encounter : " How are you boss ?"

" Sir , dun call me boss , i'm just a driver ."

"How's your day my friend ."

" Very quiet sir , maybe people are inside MBS Casino still , hahahaha ."

" Oh well , it's good for Singapore's economy "

Bla bla we talked all the way until Neptune Court .

Know what ? After that , i wish him " Merry X'mas ."

He laughed ....

Said : " I dun celebrate X'mas , i'm a Muslim ."

"Huh ? U ang mor Muslim ?

" Yeah yeah right , i am born and breed Muslim , from New Zealand ."

Here you go , not all ang mor from our classified location are Christians , hahahahah

He added : " Inside there , if we add up those Muslims into one table , that has to be the biggest table there ."

The japanese if they can converse well in English are quite a nice bunch too.

I picked up a lady from classified hotel to suntec and she asked me loads of questions about prius taxis , so i answered that there were only like 20? and asked her why she wanna know?

She told me in japan , she has got a prius and a bentley continental GT! wah real cheongster haha but too bad it was a short trip if not i will ask her more abt the bentley.

On Call local paxes , those regulars , mine encounter all 100% good ones . Are 300% better than local street paxes .

The worst paxes is those street paxes , no taxis then ON CALL , siao liao if u take their calls .

Americans ? Well , so many of them now in Sgp , i don't hate them , neither i like them .

Along with Aussies , too aggressive for me . Especially after they drink , this 2 nationals tends to be more aggressive than other nationals .

but then again we can't compare local pax to ang mor or what so ever,our bringing up & culture is a vast difference. So we can't really blame anyone for that,just drive & keep quiet is the best with locals

well, in america, we would greet the driver when we get up the bus or trolley. when we alight, we normally thank them and wish them a good day. i guess its the culture.

To be fair some local pax r nice, yes usually the regulars that take taxi. Just wanna add blangadashi workers r nice passengers too, in fact they rank higher to me then the cheapos yet arrogant type, the I compliant then u know types.
