Picked up an Ang Mor family of four near Orchard. Headed to
Sentosa.
I kept to myself mostly along the way because I thought they
look frustrated by the weather. I just turned the air con up. One
of the little daughters commented this cab is really tidy and
smelled nice, the mom and dad chuckled.
When we got nearer, I prompted the Father about the possible
charges into Sentosa since they didnt have any other pass, he was
very glad I did so. He said he usually expected drivers to keep
dead silent til they dropped bombshells at the end of the journey.
I told him I couldnt stand surprises personally so I thought maybe
my passengers wouldnt enjoy it either. Further that they were just
here.
When they got off (another 2 new passengers already self boarded
at the back of the seat), the Father who was sitted in front paid
me the meter, AND then he kept ruffling for other notes. I said its
fine, but he said he must tip me..the 2 passengers behind, also Ang
Mors and I was like !?..then that Father dug up a Red and pass it
to when the meter (alrdy paid) was just slightly over 10 total.
Thats not the end of the story. The 2 Ang Mor ladies who climbed
in by themselves at the back also tell me to keep the change when I
reached their place. Meter was under 12 i think, but they gave me 2
Reds.
