Your dream Singapore taxi flag down and surcharge ?

last SG · 2010-03-28T14:58:11+00:00

for me.... vivo can burst , little india can burst for all i care. i can only pick one and i make sure that one pay me the maximum fare , call + surcharge.

Azera37 SG

Before the dream farfe is implemented , write to the "REACH" forum citing that we should imposed a 2 dollar per stop fee for those idiots who like 3-4 stops. A TAXI if by logic is used for passengers to reach their destination NOT destinationS.

And like what i mentioned sg taxi is the cheapest as compared to developed country and citing the cost of our rental is the highest amongst all the asian country why should we give the "cost savings" to those idiots that doesnt appreciate us. In ways , driving taxi in SG is like doing charity for the nation if u sit back and look at it. Do a simple calcualtion of the bus and train cost and do it in return for cost payback....per unit cost of buses and train charged to passengers is 250% more than what we charge as a taxi driver....that day one smart ass in my company did the maths for me...next time i will post.

RotaryEngine SG

i have even drove some china men tourist recently and they commented that our surcharge is reasonable and understable and that will help promote efficiency.

to the best of my knowledge, our taxi fare is ridiculous cheap compare apple to apple. those bloody angmor, expat, FT and local sg suckers who moan and groan better go and cram themselves into trains and buses. These peoples mostly compared the monies to those cheap taxi fares in nearby countries.

RotaryEngine SG

Same here brother. These are my rules

1. I only sweep for paxs in CBD, RWS or AP.

2. I will never accept $2.50 non-prime bookings unless inside CBD between 5pm-12mn.

3. I will never accept $3.50 prime bookings unless pick up point is a hotel or condo.

4. all paxes who are in the wrong places are completely transparent unless they wave a red $10 bill at me when they are flagging.

5. I will never accept pax who cough and sneeze. Sick passengers must alight straightaway. Who suffer if I kena flu from the pax?

6. Street fare during non-prime or prime hours must be going towards CBD, RWS or AP kind. Otherwise I tell them to get off the taxi. Please no Yishun to Woodlands transfer hor.

i like all your rules. make sense. why not make it to 10 rules and become "the maxims of taxi driving"? ha.ha.ha.. Got to learn from you how to apply Rule #5 on how to get paxes out.

Sunday - my whole body weak liao leh. Finger soft soft cannot press meter. Mind groggy and cannot think straight. Need to recharge lah.

Knn - do you work on sunday without motivation $$$$ in service industry? Sometime i did drive for 3 hours but mostly Sun off.

Taxi charge should revamp for Sunday.

Azera37 SG

I think so.....at the end of the day 30% of passengers will be booking a taxi and paying 2.50 extra....why not just add one dollar per trip to give TD more motivation...:)

RotaryEngine SG

even in business, rates for service is different on weekend and weekdays.

Azera37 SG

Yeah.....tuesday went with a lady colleagues to watch green zone cost 15 bucks for 2 ; yest watch how to train dragon with wife...cost 29 bucks....so maybe sunday should double hor...

Tio Call Liao SG

i like the suggestions and analysis , maybe should write to LTA or PTC. who wanna do it?

wtf you don't know meh. factory workers got double, restaurant services got also, hotel, aircon service men , Locksmith charge you more on sunday and midnight.

even govt workers get compensated.

Taxi drivers even work on sunday without extra but pay their own medical, no personnel medical insurance, bla bla bla..

I tried driving on sunday but is really work like shit especailly many people take advantage on Deliver Roti. Multiple destinations, multiple stops. KNN - What you think? Private Limo Shuttle Service ha...

If I work and drive on Sunday - I will only Take Walkie Call for few hours only. Haven't tried yet but will fine tune my ear.

RotaryEngine SG

What do you think? Maybe Pros in Geylang don't double charge their service.

Maybe that's the kind of service didn't raise price on Sunday Service.

I dun think writing to them works....those ppl working in LTA which one of them do u think would be hero and fight for us or even refer to their bossess. Remember those LTA chaps that come in and teach us , do they look like the sort that cares? Try locating the REACH forum and do it there...hopefully someone do bother.

no need , they are watching us here .

Poolman SG

The best way to make them adjust those prices is we 合作 , boycott certain places like TMFT , Night Safari , Checkpoint and Lot-1 .

Like what we did at Little India's areas , these places the people , they are transparent to many of us .

Make paxes complaint .

That is how we got that City $3 surcharge ? was that we 合作 , we play hide & seek . Then they are dead .

Poolman SG

U can ask Tio Call Liao , during 2005-2008 , what was the situation at CBD like ???

Esp after just 8pm ?

The calls like raining non-stop all the way til 12am type .

We just simply hide , and chose .

Poolman SG

if u come to think of it .

If those LTA's fellas gets everything right , they will get retrenched by PM Lee .

Cos nothing to do ma .

They knew the problems , they collect datas , datas , datas , no datas no count type .

Talk no use one , they want datas .

They should take a taxi and go for a ride in Little India at 9pm . Then see the contrast at Lucky Plaza .

But they are not doing so .

This is PAP government !

They knew the problems , if they solve those problems , they will lose their jobs .
