Save Your Skin: Know Your
MakeUp
The clock starts ticking from the moment any cosmetics product is
opened and exposed to air, moisture and light. Skin care experts
agree that keeping container sealed tightly and away from direct
sunlight will prolong the life of cosmetics.
Pay extra attention to products that are preservative-free, have
all-natural or active ingredients such as retinol and AHA, or are
water-based.
Also, take care of makeup for sensitive areas like eyes and lips,
and avoid sharing such items.
Above all else, use your common sense. If an eye cream smells
rancid or if a lipstick has changed colour, chances are it has gone
bad. Toss it.
