By now, most Conspiracy Theorist would have seem this blatant pattern by the "media ppl", religion top people, sneakyly insinuating and releasing these doom mongering every few years or decades to the unwitting masses. Mayan Myths, the Bible prophecy, etc.

Times passes and nothing happens. The point of discussion to kick off is - what is this deliberateness for? Why do people still believe?

The earth will still go on after 2012 and for many billions of years. the earth will still go on even if there is a meteor or comet hitting it. just that many humans and animals will die, but the earth will still go on.

Most I would assume get this dodgy info for mass media outlet like discovery and History Channels. Full of lies and deception. One "fact" that always crack me up is the convincing voice overs saying this or that "was 65 million years ago" crap.

Its kind of obivous for the fact that these channels are have an agenda and always mix 'Mystery" with organised religion. Their text proof reading to confirm 2012 with the bible in the revelation is so misleading you almost wonder why no authority dare to question their unnecesary fear mongering.

Oh wait, hollywood was part of it too. So i gues the special club is really that well organised.
