Is the PAP using the GRC system to perpetuate their hold on power?

Will they be telling us "This GRC has the PM, so don't vote against the PAP." And so they go and place a Cabined minister in every GST and tell the people that it is not wise to vote against them and lose them. Is that the real purpose? And if it serve them in this way, they will continue with the GRC system.

If the Aljunied caper happens again at the next GE. Lets say East Coast GRC won by WP, and out goes Raymond Lim, Lim Swee Say, will they then declare that the GRC is an honest mistake and should be ended.

And ensuring minority representation is actually all crap.

I am not sure about the Parliamentary Elections Act and all the restrictions thing, but what i mean was, why would we all wait till she's voted in and request to DQ her with some online petition thingy and not before the polling or nomination day or when they reveal the candidates?

Why will you choose TPL over Nicole?

People in Marine Parade voted PAP because of GCT, not because of TPL. TPL is just a trouble maker trying to hide behind the backs of the more credible MPs to gain popularity and votes, and eventually victory. I guess even GCT himself deep inside is so embarrassed and unhappy about this TPL. Sadly NSP is not a strong party yet. If Nicole Seah is in WP and contesting in MArine Parade, sure win the GRC, even by margins.

Back to the topic, I have a very sneaky suspicion getting the FM kicked out was deliberate, after all, why put him in such a high risk area if he was so important to the government? Why not with Mr Goh where he'll be safe? Not like "Goh, Yeo and that extra.." is likely to lose.

I suspect MM's "repent" tactics have something to do with it, they want to drive home the message that voting is serious and have bigger consequences than "who's face I like", and the best possible way is to get someone fairly respected and letting him "kenna" the arrow, so a lot of other people start hating the opposition, as well as trying to guilt trip those who voted WP.

Possible?

I don't do anti-PAP rants, that's just brainlessly letting off steam. I respect their skill in pulling off dirty and semi-dirty tricks though. This way, you can see what they're trying to pull instead of just ranting on on old stuff.
