WHAT I would like to see more of is the frequency of engagements
between MPs and their constituents, something akin to a
townhall-type meet to raise and discuss issues of national
concern.
I have admittedly not made any attempts to attend the
Meet-the-People Sessions as I believe the main purpose of such
sessions is to allow the MPs to reach out and help fellow citizens
in need.
But one question I have been meaning to ask is this: What
discussions have been made and safeguards made with neighbouring
governments concerning their plans to proceed with building nuclear
plants?
I, for one, am not confident that adequate safeguards have been
put in place to prevent accidents of a nature that may result in a
subsequent contamination - and depopulation - of Singapore.
