into our Hokkien forum here.
Hope we can all make the pronunciations sound more like
"real"

after the word

for falling tone (a backslash)
/ = for rising tone (a slash)
_ = for a low level tone (an
underscore)
-- = for a mid level tone (two
dashes)
''' = for a high level tone (three
apostrophes)

thor/ = "dig mug" in english
I believe that race used to "dig mug" in the past, thus the
association to this trade
Thanks. On the symbols for pronunciation "i catch no
ball". Think learning such stuff really got to hv it
thru audio or learn it "live".
