A recent survey on politics, values
and society about youths in United States, Brazil, Switzerland and
Singapore found that Singaporean youths are the most pessimistic
about their future with 63% saying they are not “reasonably
confident”.
The survey known as the Credit
Suisse Youth Barometer also found that Singaporean youths to be the
least interested in politics compared to youths from the other 3
countries, with 52% very weak and 32% fairly weak in
political-relevant questions.
An astonishing 32% (highest among
the 4) do not know what is political left and right, while 36% said
political left and right have no meaning. However, 64% of the
Singaporean youths surveyed indicated that the Singapore ruling PAP
government is occasionally a failure while 11% found them to fail
often.
