“On the other hand, those who wish to become Singaporeans are
attracted by fairer and more open education policy, in addition to
a sound public transit system and good public order as well as
bigger room for personal growth.”
In the past when Singapore Dollar and Malaysian Ringgit value
were the same, yes many Malaysians would consider the
abovementioned infrastructure of Singapore to become SPRs or
Singaporeans. However, that too after decades living in Singapore
as Singaporeans, many too regretted for giving up their Malaysian
Citizenships.
Nowadays, when Malaysians apply for SPR
status its more for immigration/employment convenience and making
more money. Singapore is just a Forex business transactions for
them or a stepping stone to migrate to the western countries for
better job opportunities and future.
If Singapore currency value now is the same value as Malaysian
Ringgit…. few Malaysians will work in Singapore but many other
foreigners from third world countries will be here to work.
