翻身, 臨邊 is still
heard. jit bang nia (sorry unable to get my chinese
characters working) is more often.
Another bin a bit vulgar no doubt.
su lang mn su thin su thin lanjiao bin.

翻身 huan-sin and 臨邊 liam-mi indeed
are the "older" types to express "a moment's time".
If I am not wrong, there is even a more traditional way of
saying "in a blink of time,
immediately, just a moment, shortly", just 1 word
only :
隨 sui = in a blink of time, immediately, just
a moment, shortly
Eg:
汝去先,我隨來。 Li Kh'i Seng, Wa Sui Lai.
(You shall go first, I will come shortly.)
As with 翻身 huan-sin and 臨邊 liam-mi , 隨 sui is
hardly heard nowadays.

Now, as you mentioned, this expression is used more often:
「jit bang nia」 = in a blink of time, immediately, just a
moment, shortly
This expression has a sound change
very similar to it's sibling word which we had discussed before

Route
「jit bang
nia」or 「jit ban nia」is a merger of sound from 4 words
:
1. 蜀 (or commonly written as
「一」) = Tsit = "One"
2. 目
= Bak = "Eye"
3. (目聶)
= Nih = "Blink"
4. 仔
= A = "Diminuitive Ending"
蜀目(目聶)仔 = Tsit Bak Nih
A ► Tsit Bak Nia ► Tsit Ban
Nia ► Tsit Bang Nia
