I’ve been following this series online a lot recently. Just
finished watching 2 seasons.
You know, the country is going through some rough period. Plenty
common folk have PAP ministers and their
policies to blame for causing all these anguish; that they are
dislocated with issues going on in their own countries.
How appropriate if the ruling coliation were subjected to a
period of just trying to make ends meet as a comman man.
They will need to take public transport, eat at hawker centres,
work in frontline service jobs, pick cardboards & cans, live in
pigeon hole HDB flats.
Can you imagine finding them expressing shock and disbelief with
local folks’ lives, and them getting emotional & sobbing about
it, having quotes similar to the original show like:
” My driver takes me to work everyday, I cannot imagine waking
up an hour earlier and cramp up in the crowded MRT, 7 days a week !! “
” I am frustrated that the high cost of living has made lives
miserable for own people, theres gotta be something we can do for
them “
” I cannot believe this foreign talent policy that I’ve come up
with is making them worry for their jobs. I have myself to blame
for that !! Singaporeans shouldnt worry for their jobs !! I felt
I’ve let my countrymen down … “
” I am taken aback that people have to work beyond the age of 62
!! We’ve got to work this out !! “
Can you imagine the minister going back to the boardroom,
drilling his ministry directors about the policies and making
decisions that will filter out to the benefit of the ciitzens?
Of course that aint never going to happen, but it is a dandy
idea, right ?
