someone said this.
She has 20 years of experience in DFS, so first thing she joined
SMRT was to turn SMRT into retail business. you can see most SMRT
stations have retail shops and eateries. this will bring income to
SMRT., but then SMRT is a transportation rail company or what?
is she focusing too much on retail that she neglected safety
aspects?
second she is not an engineer, so she may not be aware of
engineering safety aspects. just like ho ching, who was not trained
or worked in banking or investment, yet she got the CEO job at
temasek holdings.
lastly SMRT may be cutting costs or source for cheapest spare
parts to boost bottomline. this may compromise public safety. also
heard, dunno whether true or not, that the man who broke SMRT
window door, SMRT initially wanted to charge him, but then after a
public outpouring of him as hero, SMRT reversed its action.
Only when there is trouble, then people dig up all these
info.
