We know very little about the causes behind the bodies.
1. First we need to check if the reported suicide rate is
accurate. This can occur if bodies are classified as "unnatural
death" or "case unsolved" instead of "suicide". Suppression of
suicide rate is popular in some countries.
2. If there has been an increase, check the causes for suicide.
Since today's methods are different from those of the past, it is
likely today's causes are different.
Examples of suspect new causes are increases in loanshark
harassment, population density, loss of purchasing power, increased
unaffordability of life needs etc
3. Check if new methods of suicide are popular: reservoirs vs
MRT tracks, preference for group suicide vs individual etc.
