NOT only should resident engagement be included as a factor in
the assessment of town councils, but residents' feedback about town
council performance through random surveys must also be taken into
account ("How to grade town councils on how well they engage
residents"; July 23).
A range of resident profiles based on the different housing
types and age groups could be considered.
The residents' survey or feedback should focus on areas such as
the town councils' efficiency, proactiveness and effectiveness.
