this will always be a chicken and egg issue....never ending debates. Well, let the votes speak at the end of the day. If you singaporeans want ministers to h...

Can I get some advices on how to make the oldies see the light and not keep looking at the past? They keep basing on how good lky was in the past to decide on who they want to vote. They keep saying the opposition in sg in the early days were hopeless to get rid of the gangsters. When LKY appeared, he was so effective to get rid of gangsters. They are deaf and blind to know that LKY was once a traitor working for the japanese. Damn, these are the people who are the culprits for our suffering under the rule of white elephants.

They should also need to remember that pap was once a oppositon party in Malaya too right?

Askingyouto SG

no apology needed, you want me to post as a new topic?

No, That's ok.

Just ask the old folks whether they can get $2.50 chicken rice any more.

Ask the old folks why their son and daughters are not producing grand son and daughters.

Ask the old folks why they have to wait till 65 to use their money.

It is the same observation that I have encountered on the older generation rooting for the croonies.

But, they have forgotten the one that served and meet the people have already been booted out by the dragon son.

What are remaining is a bunch of "honest mistakes that tell people to forget"

Unfortunately, they lived in the past.....

This was the question posed to my MIL...."Who's the PM of Singapore?". I almost fell off my chair when the doctor asked the 90 years old woman this to check if she's mentally "sound". Still I translated the question to her in teochew and she replied: "Lee Kong Yeow"

I'm very sure she is metallly sound!

Whether they draw high income or not doesnt matter.

What pple now going thru is the high cost of living. Hope ministers know this and see what they can help either reducing pub bills, etc....

can lar. high pay ok. gt performance ok.

but when things go wrong can go by proper management practices, make em say sorry and fire those top earners?

Two totally different situations.

1) NS servicemen are paid their "basic" for their daily sustenance. Surely you don't expect the NS servicemen and their families to live on sunshine and fresh air while they serve their country.

2) Whereas Ministers are paid stellar salaries, which is way above the norm compared to every other country in the world. Furthermore, these Ministers still get director fees sitting in GLCs.

I think ns allowance should further increase isnt it? Since they so wood headed of going to reduce the ns to 1 yr. At least increase their allowances. eg recruit get $1k per month. Pte get $1.5k per month, lcp get $2k per month, cpl gets $2.5k per month. sgt gets $3k per month.

Clivebenss SG

can they extend ns to those above 65? I think a lot will want to be recruited.
