Mr Balakrishnan noted that, while Mr Chiam's plan would allow Singaporeans to 'pack their bags and travel to Malaysia anytime', it would also allow equal access to Singapore.

'His teammates in the Singapore Democratic Alliance have been saying that foreigners have been taking away jobs from Singaporeans,' Mr Balakrishnan said.

In his speech, Mr Lim also questioned Mr Chiam's suggestion, and asked Singaporeans to compare the economic strategy of the PAP to that of the Opposition in order to judge who would better serve their interests.

'Mr Chiam says, we join Malaysia, we have a market of 27 million straightaway. Therefore, we can have double-digit growth every year,' Mr Lim said. 'Wah lau, so easy ah . . . so why just join Malaysia? Why not join Indonesia? They have 240 million people. Maybe triple-digit growth.'

My neighbour is one family from india, New Delhi. They do not know how to observe the life of hdb. Bring their little girl to scream and run at the void deck after 10pm until midnight.

Come home at midnight also talk loudly until whole corridor can hear them and slammed door and gate in and out. Like they want the world to know.

Best of all , this indian is an exchange doctor at NUH. You expect them to be more educated and know how to respect the living environment of Singapore, right ?

No, they are blind and only want to live like their style back in India. I think all indians in India love to slam door and announce to their neighbours they are going out or coming home just based on this indian doctor's family behaviours.

They are educated and they can behave inconsiderately. Can you imagine the poor and uneducated in India ? Must be barbarians.

Now their family members also take turn to come and live in the flat. Treating HDB like cheap hotels. But worse is, their parents also slam door and gate,

They do not observe and learn how to blend in with us. They bring their lifestyle and culture to Singapore and expect us to follow them instead of the other way round.

I think singaporean shld start to prep to welcome more FT after the G.E as I dun believe the elite on sincerce in reducing the number of foreigner in sg. Last week I had happen to see a great effort lauch by the Connect Singapore to try to hire Foreigner. That had put up many advertisment on those international jobsite (normally not visit by Singapore, i known abt this site due to muy overseas experience) and having alot of career fair at overseas university. Guess the timing is just nice that for the FT to come after the G.E
