A CONSTRUCTION worker was charged in a district court on Friday
for biting and punching a 27-year-old woman and stealing her cell
phone valued at $250.
According to court documents, Pansapakesan Ranjitkumar, 29 and
an Indian national, is believed to have committed the offences at
9pm on Jan 1, 2011, at the void deck of Block 173 Woodlands Street
13.
The victim was identified as Ms Siti Juliana Zullkefley.
Through his lawyer K.R. Manicka, Ranjitkumar, who is in remand
since his arrest soon after the alleged offences, said that he
intends to plead guilty.
The case will be next heard on March 4, 2011.
If convicted, he could be jailed up to two years and fined for
causing hurt and up to three years and fined for theft.
