ON OCT 15 in 1994, at 7.30'pm, on her way to her hairdresser's at
the Katong People's Complex (now known as Katong Mall), Singapore's
top nightclub mamasan Mona Koh was shot twice by an unknown gunman
at the ground floor lift lobby. One bullet hit her face, another
her back. A police detective was NEAR the scene of the shooting,
but even then the gunman was never caught.....
Mona was to spent six months in hospitals, first in the Singapore
General Hospital, then Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
The bullet in her face was removed, but not the one lodged in her
spine. She was reduced to be wheelchair-bound.
The gunman could have been a hired hitman, and till today, she
maintains that she does not know who wanted her out of the way so
badly.
""People say I know who it was, but I really don't know. Sometimes,
I wish the answer would come to me in a dream. But I certainly
would like to know who did it before I die.''
In spite of the fact that top police officers, businessmen and even
politicians were her close friends, no one could help her find the
answer.....
