was sitting in one few days back... i was like Shocked

the low end torque was superb.. but that was expected for a desiel engine...

what impressed me the most was the mid range torque...

gather that the torque curve shld be quite flat....

alleggerita SG

The new turbodiesel engines nowadays are so quiet, and yeah, you are right..the shape of the torque curve should be close to the shape of a plateau..lol.. Laughing

The Landrover Defender that runs on the TDI engine is a real solid vehicle...

U would never believe what Volkswagen did..Not too long ago, they took a Tourag V10 TDi and used it to tow a bloody Boeing 747!!! LOL..and the ONLY modification they did was dump some sandbags at the rear seats to make the weight distribution better..haha..what the hell man..a V10 TDi Tourag towing a Boeing 747!!! Shows that the V10 TDi have amazing power..lol.. Mr. Green

That hasn't finished on the podium at a Paris-Dakar Rally. Twisted Evil

menoob SG

i tot roadtax depends on ur engine displacement(cc)?

Kuali Baba SG

For EURO IV compliant diesel cars, it is 4x the road tax of another car with an equivalently-sized petrol engine (which of course varies with capacity).

alleggerita SG

That's why I'm always thinking why is the Singapore govt so ignorant of the benefits of the Euro IV diesel engines. They are so much cleaner than the petrol engines. The modern diesel engines are no longer the black smoke spouting diesel engines of last time. If the Singapore govt were to give rebates for people who buys a Euro IV diesel car, i bet tons of people will trade in their petrol-powered ones for the diesel cars. Mr. Green
