actually got 2 kind of such patrols.
First, the RC neighbourhood watch, where RC members volunteer
for free to patrol the neighbourhood.
the second one is more troublesome. it is known as the VSC,
Voluntary Special Constable, a.k.a part-time police. you have to
commit to a 9 month twice-weekly course, and will graduate to be a
police officer with full police powers. But the allowance is only
$3.60/hr.
$3.60, really is a little bit of money from the
govt.
The vsc is kind of making the public turn off. I mean why go for
such a length course?
We need volunteer to patrol...not to patrol and chase the gang
and catch the gang.
Only $3.60 / hr? That is so low, I expect around at least
$6/hr.
