EXPENSIVE, boring, stressful. These are some of the criticisms
about living in a metropolitan city like Singapore.
But preliminary findings of the Global Liveability Cities (GLC)
Index ranked Singapore the 3rd most liveable city from among 64
cities surveyed.
The European cities of Geneva and Zurich came in at first and
second place respectively, but Singapore was the top Asian city in
terms of liveability, ahead of other cosmopolitan cities like Hong
Kong, and Tokyo, Japan.
The GLC Index was measured based on the following five criteria:
good governance, economic vibrancy, environmental sustainability,
safety and security, and quality of life.
But how liveable is Singapore, and what are the most important
factors to consider?
