I HAVE been living in Jurong West Street 64 for five years. In
the past six months, I have become increasingly irritated by the
noise of military planes. This was especially so a week ago when
the planes were still flying past at 11pm.
I know military training is important and that there are
airspace constraints in Singapore. However, the concerns of
residents cannot be ignored.
I have a five-month-old son and a three-year-old daughter and
they are often awakened by the noise of the planes.
I believe the noise is generated by planes returning to the
airbase and not by outbound planes. My guess is that the outbound
planes might be flying over the Lim Chu Kang area, while the
returning ones fly over our area.
Perhaps the relevant authorities could shed some light on this
and on whether the planes could be re-routed? I also wonder if
flying past at 11pm is allowed and if changes can be made to the
timing.
