Forget to close window when leaving house

Hi anyone of you there has ever faced the problem where you left the house where it is still sunny outside and you do not close the windows in your house and all of a sudden it rains and rainwater enters your house and cause problems, and you have to rush home to close thw windows and clean up the mess?

please give me your personal experiences or views on such problems, thanks!
