MAILING a parcel or buying stamps at the post office is not so
straightforward these days. Expect to be ambushed to buy insurance
or be greeted by piles of abalone, pots and pans and ovens stacked
in an already cramped post office.
At the bigger Singapore Post (SingPost) outlets, there is a long
directory of services to scan before you can figure out which queue
to join.
The smaller heartland post offices have just one queue - but it
can mean a long line where customers are doing everything from
paying bills and transferring money to comparing the prices of
abalone on sale.
