Taichung is an industrial city on the western coast of
central Taiwan, distinguished by relatively dry, sunny weather.
It’s a gateway for exploring the island’s mountainous interior,
including nature areas like Sun Moon Lake, popular for boating and
hiking. In the bustling city center are museums, shops and the
ornate brick Taichung Station, a legacy of the Japanese colonial
period (1895-1945).
Taichung (台中) has a pleasant climate and a population of over
2.6 million people, making it the third largest city in Taiwan. The
city is home to many manufacturers and in recent years has
experienced rapid growth in the diversity of its cultural
offerings. There are also many famous night markets, such as
Fengjia Night Market and Yizhong Night Market, that provide
night-time excitement. Here you can enjoy delicious food and drink,
and find cheap and interesting items for sale. Bubble tea, sun
biscuit, and pineapple cake are popular Taiwanese drink and deserts
that originally come from Taichung. Besides, Taichung has a
world-class science museum, beautiful gardens, and many theme
restaurants.
