Hundreds participated in the Pants Off Subway ride in New
York City and around the globe. Many straphangers were surprised to
find people without pants on their train.
To maintain the surreal atmosphere, the pantsless
commuters were instructed to chat, read and listen to music like
they normally would have if clothed.
Dozens of other cities, including London, Washington
and Mexico City, were also slated to strip off their pants on
public transit, organizers said.
Improv Everywhere began in 2001 in New York City with
the mission of organizing crowds to get laughs by pulling public
pranks.
