You better have a good honours degree or higher to work in the
civil service. Preferably be a scholar.
Otherwise, you won't get promotions and good pay increases
relative to those who have the honours degree. Experience
doesn't count as much as qualifications.
If you are fine with seeing your younger colleagues leapfrog you
in terms of pay and levels, then by all means go work in the civil
service.
