Hi Aneslayer, I will be travelling through singapore and last time spent a couple of days found singapore to be really chic but not able to meet other singles. i will be travelling again via singapore and can again stay a few days, but not if i can't meet up with some cool guys / crowd. Heard of Sentosa and Zouk. Isn't sentaosa just a beach... can't really mingle and meet guys etc. Read about Zouk but only available at night and expensive? Are there other nice places about, reasonably priced? Maybe have a couple of drinks, meal, dancing etc...... don't want to be stuck in my hotel room by myself at night or hang around bars.

okay fireice can you give me an idea of what's resonable for a night out at Zouks / clarke quay and boat quay. i am fro oz, and find singapore's chic places quite expensive by our standards. guess singaporeans are well heeled!

tell me about hotels. the swisshotel merchant court is in collyer quay boat quay area but my travel agent says that the marina mandarin hotel or the pan pacific hotel are currently on better deals etc with my air tickets etc. what do you guys thing? which is more fun for a single girl to be at?

Better deals? How much different? Swissotel merchant court locality has more diversity happening. Chinatown, clarke quay, boat quay, central mall, market sq... The hotels you named are actually within 15~30mins walking distance...

How long would you be staying? If its longer than a week, swissotel.

What would be you mode of transport? If public transport, swissotel.

I don't know about the service quality of those hotels... so good luck choosing =)

i was told taxis are cheap in singapore.

so i will use taxis(if late at night or i have to carry many things - and available), underground and walk.
