Mercedes cab used to have the privilege status
until Chrylsers taxis comes onto Singapore Roads.
Now even Vellfire limo taxis have come into the picture as
well....
On the road and taxis stands, sometimes, the 1st passenger on
the Q will jump taxis becos, mercedes cab flag down is $3.90
compared to Sonata's $3.20.
No more the "privilege aka advantage" anymore....
During my days, if a Mercedes taxi is in the Taxi Q, there are
high chances that the Passenger(s) will jump the other taxis and
board the Mercedes cab. 
The contennial brand used to be an attraction rather than a
rejection. There are still many (expats) whom still preferred
to be ferried by Mercedes Benz cabs but seems like the trend are
slowly down as more taxis come into the picture.
